History of Linux
When Linus Torvalds was studying at the University of Helsinki  he developed Linux in 1991 with the help of "MINIX" operating system. 'Minix' is a version of UNIX operating system created by Andrew Tanenbaum .
 Linus and other users sent requests to Andrew Tanenbaum for modifications and improvements to Minix's , but he felt . That's when Linus decided to create his own operating system that would take into account users' comments and suggestions for improvements.


Overview Of Linux

1.Linux is a computer Operating System that uses the Linux kernel.
2.It is now used as a server operating system, with some large organizations using an enterprise version for desktops.
3.Linux is a prime example of open-source development, which means that the source code is available freely for anyone to use by RED HAT ENTERPRISE.
4.Linux is an operating system means that it's meant to be used as an alternative to other operating systems, Windows, Mac OS, MS-DOS, Solaris and others.
5.Linux is an interface between computer/server hardware, and the programs which run on it.
